I am the owner-designer of a small business specialising in motorcycle electronic accessories. The harsh environment - electrically as well as weather - of a motorcycle means I am familiar with circuit protection and sealing. All of my electronic products are designed, built, and tested in-house.
The deliverables of this project include the schematic and PCB in .pdf and Eaqle format, as well as Gerber files in .zip format ready to be sent to a PCB manufacturer.
My initial design concept is a stack of fixed-value resistors bypassed by Mosfets; the four Mosfets are selected according to the internal switches of the Rotary DIP Switch. For example, in Position 0, all Mosfets are ON, so the resistance is the Rds (on) of the various transistors; in Position 1, all Mosfets except #1 are ON, so only the #1 resistor is applied to the external circuit; in position 15, all Mosfets are OFF, so all resistors are applied. The exact values of the resistors are subject to discussion and confirmation; assuming an even division of resistance across each position with Position 0 = 0 Ohms, Position 1 would be 333.3 Ohms, position 2 would be 666.67 Ohms, etc.
