This is exactly what we do. I have designed similar systems for motion control of props and sets. The weight of the object plus the weight of the system to drive it smoothly is going to make this quite a bulky and cumbersome device. I have some ideas which may work better to suit your end goals, which are not clear from your brief. If it's for filming or documenting the art piece then there are other options, and of course if this is exactly the design you are after well yes we can assist with the design and specification.
