Logo: text + "mascot"

The work is to create logo for web-site, but it requires some illustration skills also, as besides the usual letters of the company name, logo will include a figure ("mascot" or whatever you call it) - the image should give an impression of gentleman of the age over average, looking somewhat like, for example, detective Poiron - elegant/old-style but same time a bit funny, a little (just a little) fat, but with a dapper pose/look, with pinze-nes (that's important b/c it's glass - connected to site topic) and probably with cane. We'll need result in vector format of course. We understand the space/size constraints, thus style-wise we'll listen to the recommendations of designer. This should give an idea of skills required, additional little details (i.e. exact logo text etc.) I'll provide to those interested if we agree on price. Thank you for your time.
