I am looking for a application (script) to manage, monitor, report and restrict the users in my linux servers. Users are allocated to access the server in hourly based per day/week. Hello, I hope to find you in the best of your times. Your last programmer did he/she developed the system using python and shell scripts? Will I be able to review that code? Yes the thing is possible (theoretically) as linux allows too much flexibility and tools to play with. Like forcefully killing a user session, and checking for how long a user is currently logged in are things that should not be a problem. For prompting user about an approaching expiry time, I have in past successfully pushed notifications to a user's desktop, but as far as I remember that required me to login to their user account via shell terminal (ssh was used). I believe that a little discussion is necessary for further understanding the project. Will be looking forward to hearing back from you. Regards.
