Hello,
You must have experience in writing MacOS scripts. I have this basic script that I found, and it does 90% of the work. You need to complete the rest.
Here's what I'm looking for:
I have about 10 output audio interfaces on my Mac, but I only care about 2:
one goes into my digital-audio box->headset
second is "Line Out", which is connected to my speakers.
I have a full-size Mac keyboard, with F keys up to F19. I would like to connect one of the available keys to this toggle script, so that, upon pressing the key, the interface switches from one to two, and from two back to one.
If this simplifies the task, I could program this task with Bettertouchtool, and associate the script with one of those key functions, and the script can do the toggling.
Here's the script that does almost what I need:

Good luck
Edit: (found another reference to changing audio interface, could be useful too):

Hi There,
I can make a small menu bar app that can sit in menu bar and monitor the key event.
It can then change the Output sound to any desired.
Since you care for only two and you want to toggle them, we just need to set the first default and then the hotkey can take care of changing the output sound.
macOS app will be flexible and work seamlessly rather than apple script.
