Build Search and Archive Engines for ASP page

I have a website with an asp page that contains sports information. The page is updated daily via an input form. The form posts the news story to an asp page at the top with the player, date and time, etc. What I want to do is develop a search function for this one page. I want people to be able to input a player name or multiple player names, click search and only the news stories for their players will come up. In addition, I would like to be able to archive the news stories on a daily basis and have links on the asp page via a calendar or "Back a day" to access the previous days player news. It would probably be best to have the "Back a day" and then have a seperate page with a calendar where someone can click on it and get the stories for that date. Since I am not a programmer, I might not be describing this all right. When you put in a player name it searches and pulls up the news in a new window.
