RSS Feed Generator / Subscription Engine Required
We are a podcast production company currently in the midst of a project for a high profile client. The project involves a series of 40 podcasts to be delivered as a full and completed series and uploaded to a website for download and syndication.
We wish to offer a subscription service for these podcasts that is both entirely automated and also allows the listener to join the series at any point they wish, depending on what stage of the series is applicable to them.
For instance, if a listener joins the series starting from Episode 1 and chooses to subscribe, they will automatically receive episode 2 the following week, and episode 3 the week after and so on, meaning that 40 weeks later, they will end with episode 40. However, if a listener decides to join at episode 20 for instance, then they will receive episode 21, the following week, 22 the week after and so on ending with week 40, eighteen weeks later.
With my understanding of current RSS 2.0 syndication technology, in order to achieve this, we would require 38 separate RSS feeds for each start point in the series all running on a constant rotation requiring a person to manually update each of the 40 feeds with the following weeks new episode, a situation that is simply not possible. Is there anybody who can build us a service that would make this sort of automated podcast syndication possible and is compatible with the iTunes podcast directories?
no payment gateway required..
As there are potentially 40 different individual feeds running at any one time for each of the 40 episodes of the podcast, How will iTunes will react to this? and how this will be implemented into the iTunes podcast directory online?
Many Thanks, I look forward to recieving your bids.
