This project involves using genetic algorithms in either C or C++. But, functionable code is not necessarily as important as theoretical research. If you are asking, "what is this project supposed to accomplish?",,,,,well that's part of the project as well, because I am also accepting ideas from potential bidders. I am in search of a project that will help me learn genetic algorithms,,,something I can understand as it developes into a completed project. Since genetic algorithms are somewhat in research stages around the world, I understand that theory plays a large role in this project. In addition, this project can be completed over the next 6 months. Some ideas that I have been discovering are in areas such as: genetic algorithms for image recognition; genetic algorithms for parallel processing in determining process scheduling; or genetic algorithms in graphics;.....etc. For usability purposes, I have access to a NUMA machine (SGI machine with IRIX 6.5 operating system with 4 processors) and a possible small budget for small supplies that might be needed if project requires minor (but necessary) hardware for demonstrating project. REMEMBER I am NOT required to use NUMA, it is simply an option if necessary.
