I would like an equation solving calculator for my math website. I need pretty good functionality so that users can enter an equation with basic arithmetic as well as trigonometry, square roots, and exponents. The program would then return the steps used in solving the equation. Those steps, along with the solution, would be displayed in graphical form as mathematical expressions. Please only bid if you have math experience and feel confident you can design an equation solver that works well for almost any standard equation. The program should use PHP (preferred) or Perl as the main language, and may use javascript in the form if necessary.

This sounds quite dificult, depending on how complex the eqations are you want solved. I only bid such a low price because I feel that this would be an interesting project. I also assume that you will notify the programmer of what methods should be used for solving different equations... for example I'm sure you don't want to solve a set of linear equations using matrix reduction. I would be able to do it for 250 in 7 days as long as this project doesn't turn out to be a full-blown CAS system.
