Firefox 3 (FF3) supplies a new feature known as the « magic url bar », the AC Manager extension (available [here][1]) supplies a like but compatible only with FF2. The work is to make the extension compatible with FF3 and adding three small features.
It could be a very quick job for someone who knows what he/she is doing.
## Deliverables
You can find this document and illustrative pictures at [[login to view URL]][2]. These resources are also supplied as an attached zip file.
The least modifications to the old extension code will be the best.
**Req1 :**
You can find the code for javascript object AutocompleteCandidate in the [login to view URL] from the extension. The working process of the new plug-in shall rely on this javascript object as it is in the existing FF2 add-on. The least modifications to this object will be the best.
**Req2 :**
The source of proposed auto-completion candidates shall not be distinguished thanks to fonts (italic or else) anymore (see [[login to view URL]][3]). Instead a meaning icon shall be used, a star for candidates from bookmarks and an empty icon for others (see [[login to view URL]][4]). The star icon shall be the same as in the FF3 candidates rendering (see [[login to view URL]][5]).
**Req3 :**
The add-on shall allow the user to choose which graphical rendering it likes. A checkbox shall be added in the option pane of the AC Manager management console.
The checked box might be captioned “Render candidates on a single line??, by default the checked box shall be unchecked.
When checked, the rendering of candidates shall look like the existing extension (single line rendering of auto-complete candidates in the url bar).
When unchecked, the rendering of candidates shall look like in FF3 (multiple lines rendering of auto-complete candidates in the url bar).
**Req4 :**
The old extension does not underscore and bold search patterns in the fields (url, title, ...) used to search candidates. The new extension shall underscore and bold simple and multiple search patterns as in FF3 (see [[login to view URL]][6]), but only for fields used to search candidates.
