squid proxy authentication

Hi, I made a Captive portal project which is quite like your projects. It used to International Izmir Fair for users to get connect to the internet. When guest try to connect a web a page, the system redirect to the user a default login page. After successfully login to the system the guest can acces to the internet. A couple of minute later if the user continue to the send data to the internet the user is assigned as alive, else the guest is get removed from the authenticated users list. In the project we have used; linux debian as main system php for login page. squid for proxy service iptalbes for filtering users. mysql for user login and authenticated user list. lighttpd for the web service In the attachment, there are configurations files and some scripts. Hi, I am looking to set up a way to authenticate users behind a NATting router via squid (or any other proxy or solution) using a PHP splash page that asks for login and password and checks them via a DB. I saw squid has some kind of session based authentication which i haven't managed to get to work, but I'm assuming it can be made to. However my problem is the NAT part. Need to somehow maintain the squid session ID on a per-user basis and not per-ip (that will just allow everyone through once one person enters their login).
