I A while ago i had someone from this list write a count recording program for me. I am ready for a different version so here goes. I need a VB program that will import a list of items from a sql database or validate the items against the database so when recording a count the item number entered has to be a "real" number. The program will also have to record the physical counts from items that could be on more than one inventory tag. then total all count for a given item number and export that to an excell spreadsheet. I also have 2 companies in our database co "1" and co "2" with various locations for each database. I would like the ability to choose which company/ location i am recording the count for. each company/location would hold its own set of counts. The program could be its own sql database and i could link the item numbers to it or we could simply add necessary tables to our existing database. It would be good if there was an option to set a connection to the database in the program so could use it with our test systems as well. I can provide a "mock database" that has the exact same structure as our production database if necessary. in summary the program would need to record: Company Id ( ability to default this ) Warehouse Location ID ( ability to default this ) Quantity Unit of Measure (Drop down list) Item Number ( Validated as a item with in the production database) Description (should pull from the item ) Bin Location Tag Number (unique by company) As long as we can store this info as stated in a table or tables either with in our production database or in one of its own ( i can link tables from the production DB) I won't need the excel export if this info is stored in any other method i would need to export it to excel. the reports i will need to produce will be a summery of counts per item and a detail of counts by item listing all tags that made up the count. I have about 30 days before i need to use it and would like to test it before hand if thats possible. I could send a screen shot of what i think the form should look like but i don't really care as long as it gets the job done. Thanks, Kevin
