Help with PHP - need to link Wordpress featured images to external URL

Hi! I'm building my first Wordpress website and need a little bit of help. My theme has a parallax-style homepage which pulls in "Testimonials" to the homepage. "Testimonials" are created individually as posts, and pulled in via an array which takes an image, a title, and the page content to form one "Testimonial". I have attached the current PHP for this part of my theme - "part-testimonials-home" What I want to do, is link the featured image as it appears on the homepage, to an external URL (to the website of the client who gave the testimonial). Each featured image should link to a different URL. I have had a look on the Wordpress forums and have found some code which is possibly useful and could be adapted, or if you can edit the "part-testimonials-home" code to make this work with a different solution, that would be brilliant.

Hi! This hopefully should be an interesting job :) First of all, it's so good to see the research you did. Seems like you are a technically interested person, unlike most of the other people here who just put up stuff like "write a software", haha. The solution that you found sounds feasible as we can pass href value to the thumbnail production function. I'll have to take a look at the code in context of the entire website to see the best way to do this. The reason why I am bidding on this is because if you'll check my reviews to see that I am particularly good with coming up with solutions that others can't. Hoping to hear from you! EDIT: I am assuming that since the testimonials are created manually as post, you'll be providing the URL manually as well, isn't it? Have a good day!
