oscommerce usps xml api tracking

We'd like to offer package tracking for our USPS delivery confirmation packages. Users could track the status of their shipment, while never leaving our site. We've implemented a similar tracking system for UPS, and think that it could be modified to talk to the USPS servers (because, well, you basically post the same information in a slightly different format, and read back similar information in a slightly different format, right? *shrug*): [login to view URL],113 What we really like about the UPS XML tracking contribution is the line by line output. The USPS API allows for this. Currently running osCommerceMAX 1.5.5 with a few extra contributions. We do have the USPS keys needed for use on the production server once your mod is available. ## Deliverables 1. **working contribution** including: which lines to edit in existing files, any new files, etc. should install similarly to the UPSXML contribution referenced above. 2. **give back to the community** in keeping with the spirit of open source, when it's all done, package it up as a contribution and give it away to the osCommerce community ... we're paying, so they don't have to. ;) ## Platform LAMPS (well, our server is FreeBSD FAMPS? heh. ;))) based on osCommerce 2.2MS2
