We're looking for someone that can create us things on a fly, for an hourly wage. For the most part it will be GUI's that run off a Java Canvas. You'll be working on a small old game engine, that requires and older version of Java JDK to compile, and run. Do not apply if you are not familiar with XML, Java, and GUI Creation. This could turn into a repeat purchase, or a long term position on call. If you are interested, put your bid in and I'll chat with you if I think your offer is reasonable. * NOTE * Keep in mind, this is for an older RPG Game Engine, so be prepared to deal with a file around 10-20MB worth of files. * NOTE* I know how the Engine executes things for the most part, and where to look for most code so I can help answer / get you started in advance to knowing the game engine as well. Dear Sir, Madam, I am a Java software developer with 8+ years of commercial experience, currently working in investment banking in London. I have been doing developments with SWING for the past couple of months and would say I quite enjoy it. Today I would like to contribute to projects outside of my work as I want to apply my coding, UI and UX design skills outside of financial services. Which technology would you consider besides SWING, if any? Since you said it is an older version of the JRE - I guess JavaFX is not an option here. Hi, I would really like to help you out on your project. I've made a simple GUI using AWT for one web crawler that was required as a assignment I worked on for a client. I think that working on the project you are making would be a piece of cake. I think I would use the simplest Model Viewer Controller design pattern to make the GUI working.
