Using Wine on Ubuntu to install Microsoft Word

Hi! My name is Konstantin. I'm an experienced high- and low-level Windows and all-Linux developer. I have a broad range of both software development and system administration/configuration skills. I know how to deal with Wine and how to make Windows programs work under Wine in Ubuntu operating system. I'm using Wine on daily basis while doing cross-platform development for Windows software testing. I also have a lot of experience with Microsoft Office and add-in development for it. Can you please provide more details about this task to better estimate time frame and complexity? Namely, why you did not satisfied with OpenOffice capabilities of Office files handling? I know it's buggy, but it works OK for normal files and it you are not happy with it - it means you have a really complex Word documents. If you can provide a sample Word file I can try both Word in Wine and different conversion methods do not require original Word to be executed. With best regards, Konstantin
