I have CSV files of 6 different types, of transactions history as downloaded from different financial institutions (e.g. bank transaction log). Each CSV has a slightly different structure, such as a unique order of the columns or different date format. One of the CSV types has the transaction description field placed in a separate line underneath each main transaction line.
The GAE app you'll develop will have a simple "upload" button allowing the user to upload one of these CSVs. After uploading, the app should recognize which of the 8 formats this file has, convert it to a single canonic format, and respond to the user with a download of the converted file. The app should also display a message with the name of the format that was auto-recognized.
The canonic format will be defined to you as a specific order of columns, a specific date format, etc.
In your bid comment please mention which library you plan to use for processing the CSVs, and how long will you need to complete this.
Thanks for bidding!
Hello, there!
I'm a Python expert. I've worked with GAE before and I deal with CSV's almost daily.
I hope you will allow me to help you on this. You can check my portfolio for a sample of what I can do.
Best regards,
Danilo G. Botelho.
Hey there... I assume you are expecting a desktop application to process one of the six CSV files.... Please reply, this seems a simple task.. thank you..
I am a Senior Software Engineer and I am experienced with Google App Engine. Recently I also attended a 1 week Google Cloud Platform training in Google's office in Tel Aviv. I am experienced with Python as well, being one of my main languages.
The CSV library to use is the "csv" library ("import csv")
Hi there, I am willing to write a lightweight Shiny application for transforming and cleaning your data. I would be able to use base R to do all of the data manipulation, but any Python library could also be used. Thanks
