Hello I have FULL CONFIDENCE of completing this "scraping" project using Excel VBA without using any 3rd-party libraries apart from those which are part of Windows OS. Let me discuss how I am going to implement it. As this job requires downloading resources (HTML as well as image files) from the Internet, I am going to use either MSXML or WinHTTP library for this purpose. Although Excel has added Web functionality, such as Web Queries, using the QueryTable object, it is not flexible. Hence, I am going to use said libraries. The MSXML library gets installed with MS Office itself so this is provided by Microsoft. The WinHTTP library is also provided by Microsoft and is, in fact, part of Windows OS. So, these cannot be considered as 3rd party libraries. The XMLHTTP/WinHTTP library can be used retrieve the webpage/image files silently, i.e. without displaying anything to user. However, if the website in question employs complex AJAX to display results or if the webpage requires JavaScript engine to display results, we will use WebBrowser control embedded in a UserForm. There will be need to parse the HTML webpages retrieved from Internet in order to find out URLs for images, and so on. For this purpose, I am going to use Regular Expressions. Again, this library is also part of Windows OS. It is called "Microsoft VBScript Regular Expressions 5.5" and it is part of Windows right from Internet Explorer 5.5! Thanks, Tushar

I have ready VBA macros for parsing web pages and downloading images from internet (for a catalogue). So it won't take me long to adapt my solutions to your requirements. There might be additional options, like comparing the already downloaded files in your directory with the names on the website, in order to avoid duplicates, or maybe changing image names to match their location etc. There is also a question about how the macro should recognize the necessary text on the web page. If the pages structure will be similar, it is easy to set key words for searching in the parsed page, but if not? Search for jmage files and fetch all text nearby?
