Minimalistic Ubuntu File System Driver

Looking for a skilled C programmer to create a file system driver for Ubuntu. Underneath the covers, I will provide the read/write of a block and return a status as we'd agree on. It's best thought of the blocks as being located on a network, and they will be queried when they are requested instead of being cached. i.e. int read_a_block(uint32_t blockId, unsigned char buffer[BUFSIZE]); int write_a_block(uint32_t blockId, unsigned char buffer[BUFSIZE]); Your code would sit on top of this and provide a minimal, but useful file system to the Ubuntu kernel. Let me know what other APIs you need provided at the lowest layer. Your code will be: - Written solely in C (with minimal ASM if required), targeted for an x86 Ubuntu - Usefully commented for maintenance - Leans towards "clear and easy to understand" vs. "optimized for blinding speed" - Comes with a makefile and any support code (also in C) - Comes with documentation for how to integrate this into the Ubuntu kernel - Ultimately compiles with gcc and related. - Not copyrighted (though if I use it in a commercial product, you will get full attribution) - Does not use caching or rely on a significant amount of memory. For me to use this in Ubuntu, I'd expect ultimately, that I'd be able to simply use the mount command. From then on, a program accessing that mount point would see a normal file system (i.e. the way when mounting a CDROM, etc.).
