I am looking for an application made which will run on an AP (Atheros chipset running OpenWRT) and would scan periodically (interval of 1 min ). This application will collect mac address and RSSI value for each of the user and will push the list of Mac address and their RSSI value to an API endpoint. The API to which the list will be pushed to will be provided by me. One important thing which you will have to keep in mind is that RAM and CPU footprint of the application has to be low, ideally less than 30% CPU usage and about 20 MB of RAM. Our AP runs Barrier breaker or Chaos calmer version of OpenWRT. As final deliverable I will need a well documented code and a separate document with detailed compiling instruction.

Hi, i have done similar project with rpi. It use tcpdump and filter traffic only for 'probe-req'. I think it will require slightly modify it for your api. It written in python. I can port it to work under openwrt, now it runs on rpi raspbian.

Hi, Please provide the hardware for openwrt you will use, and details of your api. As the program job will increase/decrease as the number of wifi device found and the api usage it is hard to say how much cpu will the program need. Also that depend in which CPU will work the program. Best regards, David
