92774 NNTP Downloder And Decoding

Hi What I have at the moment is an functional application that written in VB6, it can download via nntp from a news group provider. It uses mysql odbc connector to connect to a mysql database and retrive all the info for the download, message ids ect. The application only downloads on 1 connection at the moment and is quite buggy, I would like it do download with up to 4 connections or greater, I need it to be similar say to Newsleecher, Newzbin Applications for downloading. Once the file is downloaded then it needs to be decoded, the current decoding proccess is not async, I would like it be made async ? Im looking for a solid nntp downloading & decoding system that is robust and able to handle all associated errors.
