Copy Editor (URGENT HIRING!)

Claire Entertainment Inc. is seeking the best candidate to fill in the position of Copy Editor. He/She must work on multiple articles per day. Must have high stress tolerance and perfectionist. Responsibilities: - Make sure the writing is easy to read and fits the publication's editorial style. - Lead the editing process by fixing any grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. - Double check that names, places and organizations are spelled properly and that facts, dates and statistics are accurate. This may involve contacting writers', sources or conducting online research. - Confirm headlines and subheads for articles are SEO friendly; make sure images, tags and keywords are accounted for. - Maintain and update our style guide. - Work closely with writers, suggesting changes to enhance articles' readability, conciseness and style. - Help writers research topics and locate/contact sources throughout the development of articles. -Double check that images used in stories meet the editorial policy Qualifications: Must be a graduate or undergraduate of any 4 year course 2 to 4 years of copyediting experience Superior copyediting and proofreading skills and meticulous attention to detail Expert understanding of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, while able to respect author/editor style Intimate knowledge of industry guides and resources, including AP, The Chicago Manual of Style, Words Into Type, Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards and juggling multiple projects Excellent computer skills including CMS Experience electronically editing a plus Knowledge of celebrity is a strong plus Knowledge of different SEO strategies Can work during PH hours 9am - 6pm Manila Time Must have their own computer Must have a reliable & strong internet connection at home Must have a backup connection in case your main connection went down No power outage excuses Reliable & Punctual To Apply: Send Your Updated Resume and sample writings to jobs +at+ claireentertainment <dat> c o m Put which position you applying for with your Full name (Ex: Subject Line: Copy Editor - Juan Dela Cruz) Note: Please follow instructions carefully.
