Lost at Sea; Night Dive in the Fla Keys and Diving a German U submarine in N. Carolina

Actually, I wish to tell you why I want to write. Besides the fact that I love it, I have many interesting life experiences to draw from, which I could either turn into fiction or true life. Currently, I am working on 3 scuba diving stories right now, none of them ready for submission. One story (Lost at Sea) provides an account of coming very close to my own death. Another dive is very descriptive about an exquisite and eerie night dive on a reef off the Fla. Keys. The third dive was in North Carolina when we dove a German U boat (the U-32) that had been there since WWII. In that dive, I was almost lost again but a shorter time.I dove for 5 years and sadly gave it up because of the expense. I am a 81 yo and a beginning writer. Years ago I had an article published in the AJN (American Journal of Nursing) on the student page when I was in nursing school. My teacher suggested I send my paper into the AJN for publication. I never dreamed it would be published. The date, year and name/author can be found online - April 1963 - student page. Unfortunately. the article is not on-line. The author was myself under a different name: Sister Mary Shawn Simpson, O.S.B. I was in the convent for 11 yars and left in 1969 for a leave of absence in NYC. At the end of that year I made the decision to get a dispensation from my vows and leave the convent for good. I was single for 33 years and worked as a nurse in the hospital for 7 years, home care as a visiting nurse for 18 years; remainder of time was office work for disability case managemen on-line. I also taught in the school nursing at Catholic U. in Wash. DC. While in the convent I taught high school for 2 years. I met my husband on-line in 2001; he was a native New Yorker and I was living in MD at the time. Neither had ever been married. I was 61 and Mauro was 67 when we married 11/16/2002. My husband passed away almost 15 years later from cancer. We adopted an older chiild who was a 16 yo young lady from La. in 2010. We took classes at the adoption agnecy plus attended many of their conferneces on adopting an older child. These kids come with a lot of anger and an inability to trust due to their truamtic past. It was a very tough situation; we had to call the police to our home 11 times in the 2 years she was with us. They don't know they're taking their past out on their adoptive parents. Eventually, via her therapist we found a mental health program for youth. She was accepted and lived there in a town house with 2 other girls for 2 years. The girls were closely supervised and gradually given more independent things to do. Our daughter now lives back in La., has matured somewhat and is a single Mom with a 5 yo boy. We are very bonded now and keep in touch via phone and email. I would be more than happy to finish the Lost At Sea diving story and send it if you wish.
