High Availability System Design

I am attaching a document which contains a proposed solution for our network and server infrastructure. What I would like and I am willing to pay for this is a breakdown of what the proposed solution attached is accomplishing, and a counter idea as to how to accomplish the same thing with used equipment, not necessarily the same items being quoted on the used market, but a comparable configuration that provides high reliability. I am looking for ideas that don't need VMware, but I will settle for VMware if it's the only way. I would prefer to use Microsoft failover clusters possibly, but I am wondering if this solution is using that also, just also on a VM platform. Currently we have applications that use, SQL Server 2008 Active Directory Exchange Terminal Services File Servers Also I am interested in knowing a critique of this particular configuration and what might be better. We have around 80 users and this seems excessive. We currently have a variety of 5 servers of W2K3 and W2K8 varieties supporting these apps above.
